Mori sensei who is the chairman and chief instructor of American Japan Karate Association Inc. JKA/Shotokan Karate-do International, has been very supportive of our presence in Connecticut and granted the permission of this new dojo in the spring of 2010. Sensei Shahrokh Hoghooghi regularly visits the Milford-JKA to keep its standards acceptable to Japan Karate Association. Mr. Tony Caldas who himself is one of sensei’s students and the principal of Milford JKA also assists and teaches at the Milford-JKA dojo under the guidance of the sensei.
Due to the nature of the training which demands a high discipline and concentration, all children are evaluated before joining the dojo, and then, will enter a one week trial period to make sure they can follow the course; if not they will be fully refunded and can try to join the following session.
Once a student joins any of these dojos, he or she is allowed to train in all other dojos at no extra cost subject to the number of classes he or she has registered.
For Westisland-Y, since YMCA has very strict rules of entrance. you must give your name to the sensei prior to attending a class.
Sensei Shahrokh Hoghooghi is the Chief instructor of all above dojos and he holds a sixth degree black belt from the Japan Karate Association.
